Maroon 5's New Studio Album "Jordi" -- By The Numbers

On June 11, 2021, Maroon 5 delighted fans across the globe with the release of their seventh studio album, Jordi -- a tribute to the band's late manager Jordan Feldstein, who passed away in 2017.

While the band's fanbase has been generally receptive of their latest effort, Maroon 5 critics provide mixed reviews at best, scrutinizing the group once again for producing "depthless" pop music, and describing the album as "lackluster" and "forgettable".

Nonetheless, Jordi would quickly garner international success on brand name alone, as Maroon 5 remains one of the most well-known ensembles in the world.

With two months now firmly in the rearview, here's a look at the Spotify play count of all 14 tracks on Jordi's deluxe edition, arranged by popularity.

It is worth noting that the first four tracks on this list received significant airtime prior to Jordi's release date (with 'Memories' dating back to 2019). Furthermore, 'Lost' is the most recent Maroon 5 single to hit the airwaves. Thus, analysis of this list may actually begin with the sixth most popular track.

While the majority of these newer songs maintain similar play counts, it's quite interesting that 'Echo' seems to have taken hold as Jordi's most popular album track. Perhaps empowered by the fact that Maroon 5 and blackbear are about to embark on a tour together (beginning August 10 in Auburn, Washington), this song will be worth consideration if the band looks to release an additional single in the fall. 

In perusing the list, it's also evident that 'Can't Leave You Alone' is a fan-favorite, though its success is likely due in part to a verse from the late Juice WRLD. Conversely, 'Memories (Remix)' seems to have missed the mark, as the additions of Nipsey Hussle and YG (supposedly Jordan Feldstein's favorite rappers) have earned it the title of Jordi's least streamed song on Spotify.

A's Win First Postseason Series Since 2006, Will Face Astros in ALDS

Despite falling to the Chicago White Sox in Game 1 of the AL Wild Card Series, the Oakland Athletics rebounded with consecutive wins in Games 2 and 3 to snag their first postseason series victory in 14 years, advancing to the ALDS for the first time since 2013. After digging a 3-0 hole in Thursday's decisive Game 3, Oakland rallied with four runs in the fourth inning to take the lead. However, their biggest hit of the afternoon came in the bottom of the fifth, with the score tied 4-4. In perhaps the most crucial plate appearance of his life, Chad Pinder stepped to the plate with an opportunity to defy history. Why Quidditch Is Totally Ridiculous (Yet We Still Love It)

On June 26, 1997,  Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling introduced the world to a remarkable new sport called Quidditch. In theory, Rowling's invention is fairly simple. For those who are unfamiliar with the game, I will provide a brief description of its rules.  Quidditch is played in a 7-on-7 format on flying broomsticks. Each team features three "Chasers" who attempt to throw a large ball (called the Quaffle) past the opposing team's "Keeper" into one of three circular hoops.  Every time the Chasers succeed in beating the Keeper, their team is awarded 10 points. Meanwhile, there are a pair of bat-wielding "Beaters" on each team who add to the chaos by clubbing two smaller balls (called Bludgers) at their opposition.
