5 Bold Predictions for Super Bowl LV

Image
While professional sports are unpredictable by nature, millions of viewers across the globe can't help but weigh in with their unofficial analyses of star players, championship caliber teams, and other miscellaneous coverage. However, even the most astute sports analyst could not have projected a more perfectly scripted Super Bowl LV matchup for February 7, 2021. The headlines circling a winner-take-all contest between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs are nothing short of iconic. 43-year-old Tom Brady (presumably the greatest quarterback in NFL history) against 25-year-old Patrick Mahomes (indisputably the greatest quarterback of the new generation).  Mahomes was merely in Kindergarten when Brady clinched his first Lombardi Trophy in February 2002. Will the Chiefs' superstar usher in a new era by upending Brady to claim his second consecutive title? Or will the former Patriot singlehandedly surpass all 32 NFL franchises by snagging his seventh trophy in his 10th

My Top 10 Sports Moments

With the NBA and NHL deep into their respective playoff brackets, MLB approaching its modified postseason format, and the first NFL Sunday on tap for tomorrow, I thought it might be interesting to illustrate some of the more meaningful moments in my time as a sports fan. Recognizing that everyone invests in a unique combination of teams, I'm interested to know how my "Top 10 Sports Moments" stack up with those of my readers.  Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below and don't forget to "Subscribe" for future post notifications :) 10. The 2018 World Series: Red Sox beat Dodgers in 5 games As an avid San Francisco Giants fan, something about the Dodgers losing in the World Series is simply irresistible. There's nothing sweeter than watching your rivals spend absurd amounts of money each offseason, stack their roster to clinch the NL West, and ultimately crumble when it matters most. While this one wasn't quite as memorable as the Dodgers&

Falcons vs. Seahawks: Week 1 Preview

With less than 48 hours remaining until kickoff, it's almost time for Dirty Bird Nation to "Rise Up" for an opening week match-up against the Seattle Seahawks. Entering the 2020 NFL Season, these new-look Atlanta Falcons are likely to prioritize early-season success, as consecutive poor starts (1-4 in 2018 and 1-7 in 2019) have prevented this team from seeing playoff action since its 2017 campaign. However, having finished 2019 with six of eight victories (pacing the NFC down the stretch), perhaps the Falcons have found a winning formula at last. Let's hope so, if only for the sake of head coach Dan Quinn, who may be on thin ice following back-to-back losing seasons. For Atlanta, numerous off-season acquisitions will be on display this Sunday, perhaps none more notably than running back Todd Gurley -- a former first-round pick who joins the team with lingering knee concerns that have plagued his career since college. Should Gurley exceed expectations in 2020, this

2020 Fantasy Football Draft: 4th and Inches

I'll preface the charts below by admitting this isn't one of my typical blog posts.  Yesterday evening, my fantasy football league conducted its draft, featuring 10 owners for the first time. These are the results in our standard, non-PPR format. My team can be found in the ninth position.  With the NFL season starting tomorrow, I'm curious: who do you see taking this league?
