(1) Warriors vs. (8) Pelicans - Western Conference Quarterfinals Preview

Following the conclusion of their most dominant season in franchise history, the Golden State Warriors (67-15) will embark on a potential two-month postseason journey tomorrow afternoon, seeking to permanently etch their name into the NBA record books.
For the Warriors, the 2014-2015 regular season has brought much joy, and very little sorrow.
Amidst Klay Thompson's record-setting 37-point quarter, Stephen Curry's record-setting 286 three-point field goal season, and Steve Kerr's record-setting 67 victories in his first season as an NBA head coach, it is difficult to understand or appreciate the phenomenal regular season that has recently concluded.
Statistics, however, suggest that this season's Warriors' team may be one of the greatest ten teams in NBA history.
Indeed, with their victory over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday evening, Golden State became only the tenth team in NBA history to win 67 games in a single season.
And after the game, Warriors' forward Andre Iguodala offered his opinion about their remarkable winning total.
"You look at crazy numbers like only nine teams have [won 67 games in a season], and seven of the nine won the championship. And you don't want it to be seven out of ten. You want it to be eight out of ten," Iguodala remarked.
Thankfully, the Warriors should be relatively healthy for their playoff opener, as David Lee (strained lower back) will be the only unavailable player for Steve Kerr's squad in tomorrow's game.
Golden State, however, is perfectly ready to adapt and overcome any possible adversity that they may encounter throughout the course of the postseason.
After Wednesday night's final buzzer, MVP-nominee point guard Stephen Curry said it most accurately, insisting, "This is what we've been waiting for."
And while Anthony Davis and the young New Orleans Pelicans will be chomping at the bit to make their postseason debut, the Warriors have their sights set on the ultimate prize.
Prediction: Golden State in 5.
