Golden State Warriors vs. Utah Jazz 03/21/2015

A taco salesman once proclaimed, "He makes it rain so much, they're asking him to end the California drought." 
Indeed, the above quote was provided for comic relief in the chain of commercials which the Warriors have released on CSN Bay Area this season.
Nevertheless, over the past few years, Golden State's prodigal son has altered this "joke" into an indisputable reality. 
The 27-year-old Davidson product, more fondly known as the "Human Torch" or "Baby-Faced Assassin", has been a substantial force for his exuberant Warriors' squad since the beginning of the 2012-2013 season.
And while Stephen Curry's shooting percentage had certainly stagnated over the past five games (25-for-72, which converts to a dismal 34.7%), he finally re-emerged tonight as the dominant finisher that Golden State has grown accustomed to.
Courtesy of Klay Thompson's continued absence, Curry was left with no choice but to shine, if the Warriors intended to bring home yet another victory. 
And the best shooter in the NBA would not disappoint, splashing home a game-high 24 points and helping to power the Warriors to a rather routine 106-91 victory.
Leandro Barbosa was also a key contributor this evening, converting on 8 of his 10 field goal attempts, and finishing with a season-high 19 points. 
Thankfully for Golden State, Utah's typical dominance in the paint would not play a large factor tonight, as Rudy Gobert was completely shut down by Andrew Bogut, who was undoubtedly seeking to make a statement of his own.
All in all, tonight was another impressive win for the Warriors, who continuously prove that they are the best team in the NBA.
Golden State's extensive home stand concludes on Monday night, when the potent Washington Wizards enter Oracle Arena, seeking redemption for their previous loss against the Warriors in late February.

A's Win First Postseason Series Since 2006, Will Face Astros in ALDS

Despite falling to the Chicago White Sox in Game 1 of the AL Wild Card Series, the Oakland Athletics rebounded with consecutive wins in Games 2 and 3 to snag their first postseason series victory in 14 years, advancing to the ALDS for the first time since 2013. After digging a 3-0 hole in Thursday's decisive Game 3, Oakland rallied with four runs in the fourth inning to take the lead. However, their biggest hit of the afternoon came in the bottom of the fifth, with the score tied 4-4. In perhaps the most crucial plate appearance of his life, Chad Pinder stepped to the plate with an opportunity to defy history. Why Quidditch Is Totally Ridiculous (Yet We Still Love It)

On June 26, 1997,  Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling introduced the world to a remarkable new sport called Quidditch. In theory, Rowling's invention is fairly simple. For those who are unfamiliar with the game, I will provide a brief description of its rules.  Quidditch is played in a 7-on-7 format on flying broomsticks. Each team features three "Chasers" who attempt to throw a large ball (called the Quaffle) past the opposing team's "Keeper" into one of three circular hoops.  Every time the Chasers succeed in beating the Keeper, their team is awarded 10 points. Meanwhile, there are a pair of bat-wielding "Beaters" on each team who add to the chaos by clubbing two smaller balls (called Bludgers) at their opposition.
